On August 11, the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, hosted the first emotional support festival “Life Will Overcome Everything” at the IKS PARK. The primary goal of the event was to provide assistance to people whose mental health has been affected by the war. The organizers prepared a comprehensive program that included various types of therapy.
Admission was free for military personnel and their families, allowing about 1,000 people to attend the event. Kateryna Shershneva, owner of the Holy Sweets event agency, noted: “This was our first festival in this format, and we were very anxious about how everything would go and whether we could fit all the activities we had planned in one day. But thanks to the teamwork of volunteers from the ‘Genome of the Future’ Foundation, the ICR ‘Base 4.5.0’ and our agency, everything went well! We have already received a lot of positive feedback and requests to repeat the event, so we are already preparing for a new festival.”
The project was initiated by the founders of the “Genome of the Future” Foundation, Tina Kristynova and Alyona Sontse, who developed the festival program and organized fundraising for “Magnum 3500 PRO” magnetotherapy devices and B-Mat 200 mattresses. These will be used for the rehabilitation of soldiers at the 4th Hospital in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv.
The festival combined a lecture program with practical workshops in music and art therapy and meditation. The highlight of the entertainment program was a concert by renowned Ukrainian artists Tetyana Myroshnychenko and Oleg K-Dallas, a winner of the international music festival MUSIC.UA.WAR.
Such formats of events are extremely important as they help improve the emotional state of participants and provide an opportunity for psychologists to interact informally with military personnel and their families. This increases the chances of engaging them in various forms of therapy in the future, as well as encouraging them to recommend these activities to their comrades.
The organizers of the festival ‘Life Will Overcome Everything’ are volunteers from the innovative rehabilitation center ‘Base 4.5.0’, the charity fund ‘Genome of the Future’, and the event agency ‘Holy Sweets’, who are constantly working to support the psychological rehabilitation of military personnel and their families. Particularly popular among their activities are canine therapy and various water activities.
